Imminent agreement between Faouzi Benzarti and US Monastir!
While persistent rumors recently hinted at a possible return to Wydad Casablanca, the future of Tunisian coach Faouzi Benzarti now appears to be (almost) sealed.
The seasoned tactician will continue his tenure at the helm of Union Sportive Monastirienne for another season.
USMO: A preliminary agreement reached with Faouzi Benzarti!
According to well-informed sources reported by local radio Diwan FM, the club's interim management committee in Monastir has reached a preliminary agreement with Benzarti to continue their collaboration after the remarkable results achieved under his guidance. A meeting is scheduled soon with his agent to finalize the last details regarding preparations for the 2025-2026 season.
Arriving last February as a replacement for Mohamed Sahli, Faouzi Benzarti managed to steady the ship and led the team to a second-place finish in the Tunisian championship, securing a historic qualification for the upcoming CAF Champions League.
At 75 years old, the coach has overseen 17 matches across all competitions this season, recording 11 wins, 5 draws, and only one defeat.
It is worth noting that Faouzi Benzarti has repeatedly expressed his ambition to remain active on the continental scene. In a recent interview with Qatari channel Al-Kass, he did not rule out the possibility of taking charge of a club like Wydad Casablanca, which will compete in the next Club World Cup set to be held in the United States.
