Ismaël Doukouré chooses Côte d'Ivoire

Another major coup for Côte d'Ivoire after Elye Wahi. Ismaël Doukouré is set to join the Elephants' national team.

Although he was a French international through the youth ranks up to the U21s, Ismaël Doukouré could be heading to the 2026 World Cup with Côte d'Ivoire this summer. According to reports from Sport News Africa, the Strasbourg center-back visited the Consulate General of Côte d'Ivoire in Paris on Monday.

This is part of the administrative process required to officially represent the Elephants. Ismaël Doukouré could soon be joining his teammates Martial Godo and Guéla Doué in the Ivorian squad, as well as Nice's Elye Wahi.
