Cameroonian midfielder Arnaud Sutchuin-Djoum (35 years old) has officially ended his professional career, after more than 15 years on the field.

The former Cameroonian international announced the news through a video posted in a story on his Instagram account. He retraces the highlights of his club and international career.

466 matches, 36 goals: Arnaud Djoum bids farewell to football!

Trained in Belgium, Djoum began his professional career with FC Brussels. He then wore the colors of several clubs across Europe, including Anderlecht (Belgium), Roda JC (Netherlands), Lech Poznań (Poland), Heart of Midlothian (Scotland), Akhisarspor (Turkey), before joining the Saudi club Al-Raed.

On the international scene, Arnaud Djoum first represented Belgium in youth categories before choosing to defend the colors of Cameroon. With the Indomitable Lions, he played 28 matches and won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017, without scoring a goal.

In total, he played 466 matches, scored 36 goals, and provided 25 assists throughout his career.

Arnaud Djoum's farewell message on Instagram:

"End of a chapter, beginning of a new dream ✨"

"After more than 19 years living the passion that has driven me since childhood, it's time for me to turn the page on my professional football career.

From Cameroon to Europe, through the AFCON and the leagues of Belgium, the Netherlands, Turkey, Poland, Scotland, Saudi Arabia, and Cyprus, I have had the privilege of living this sport intensely: defending the colors of my country, winning titles, and above all, sharing unforgettable moments with my teammates, coaches, fans, and all the people I've met along the way.

I thank my family, my close ones, my agents, my coaches, my clubs, and all those who have supported me, believed in me, and accompanied me through good and bad times. You all contributed to making me the man and player I have become.

Football has given me everything: values, encounters, emotions, lifelong memories. But today, with a full heart and deep gratitude, I hang up my boots, ready to write a new chapter.

My love for this game remains intact. It will simply take a new form. I am preparing to transmit — guide, accompany, train. Because the story is not over. It continues, differently.

Thank you for everything."
