Jean-Victor Makengo will change clubs this summer

Jean-Victor Makengo’s journey at FC Lorient is coming to an end. At 26, the French-Congolese midfielder is no longer part of the Merlus’ plans for the upcoming Ligue 1 season.

According to Le Télégramme, Jean-Victor Makengo has been told to find a new club, along with Kalulu and Diarra. This season, he featured in 18 Ligue 2 matches. While his playing time was modest, he made it count, recording one goal and one assist. His consistency in midfield and experience contributed to Lorient’s squad stability in a campaign highlighted by promotion.

Arriving with a reputation as a technical and hard-working player, the former Nice man always gave his all. But promotion to Ligue 1 raises the bar. Lorient are now looking to refresh their midfield, and several clubs are already keeping a close eye on Makengo.
