José Gomes Shatters Al Ahly Speculation with Defiant Stand

Jose Gomes head coach of Al Fateh has dismissed rumors linking him with move to manage Al Ahly of Egypt insisting that he remains fully focused on his current club.

Following Al Ahly’s recent announcement of the departure of Swiss coach Marcel Koller and the temporary appointment of Emad El Nahhas, Gomes name surfaced among potential candidates for the prestigious role.

Speaking to Kooora, the Portuguese coach said:

"I'm not concerned with the rumors about negotiations with Al Ahly.. My focus's fully on Al Fateh"

He added:

"I'm committed to my contract with Al Fateh. The team's entering crucial phase with very important matches ahead leaving no room for distractions or discussions about external offers".

Currently Al Fateh sits 13th in the Saudi Pro League standings with 30 point after 29 round.

Gomes who joined Al Fateh in Dec 2024 after successful stint with Zamalek (winning the CAF Confederation cup & CAF Super cup) reaffirmed his dedication to guiding the saudi club through the remainder of the season.
