Juma Bah, uncertainty hangs over his future
Abdulai Juma Bah made a strong impression at Racing Club de Lens. Loaned from Manchester City this winter, the Sierra Leonean defender quickly established himself in the Lens starting eleven. Solid and diligent, he earned more playing time and the trust of the coaching staff.
But the Lens adventure is (already) coming to an end. In principle, Juma Bah is set to return to Manchester at the end of the season. That return could prove complicated. City, his parent club, already boasts a well-stocked defense. And the recent arrival of former Lens player Abdukodir Khusanov only complicates matters further. His prospects there seem limited.
Lens, for its part, hopes to extend the adventure. The club from Artois wants to negotiate another loan. The idea is appealing... but other options are on the table. Juma Bah reportedly has his eye on a club competing in European football. It's an understandable ambition for a young talent on the rise. However, Lens will not play in any European competition next season. His future therefore remains uncertain.
