Khaldoon Al Mubarak Details Manchester City’s Plans After Disappointing Season and Marmoush Signing

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak's revealed that the club accelerated the signing of Omar Marmoush during the Jan transfer window despite initially planning to move for him in the summer.
Winter Move Justified by Urgency
"Marmoush's fantastic player and had been on our radar for long time. We planned to sign him in the summer but the need became urgent and he delivered immediately" Mubarak said during his annual address to the club’s website.
The Egyptian forward joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in 80 million euro deal after being directly involved in 34 goal for the German club.
Since arriving in Manchester, he scored 8 goal and registered 2 assist in 22 appearances across all competitions.
City Plans Major Revamp After Disappointing Season
Despite winning the Community Shield, City endured trophy light campaign losing the PL crown for the first time in 4 year, exiting the Champions league early and falling short in the FA cup final.
Mubarak promised strong response ahead of the Club World cup where City are grouped with Al Ain, Wydad Casablanca and Juventus.
"We’ve identified our targets and will move quickly during the special registration period from 1 Jun to 10. Our aim is to be fully prepared with refreshed squad" he confirmed.
De Bruyne Era Nears Its End
The City chairman also paid glowing tribute to Kevin De Bruyne who's set to depart at the end of his contract. The Belgian's reportedly close to move to Napoli.
"From my perspective, Kevin's the greatest player in the club’s history. He won 19 trophies with us earned multiple individual awards and has been true leader on and off the pitch" Mubarak declared.
Injuries & Form Behind Season Collapse
Mubarak attributed the club’s struggles to injuries and underperforming stars particularly in Nov & Dec. His message to fans:
"We’re turning the page. That season's history. We’re ready to start working for the next one. This club'll return to its usual standards"
