On loan from Union Saint-Gilloise, Lazare Amani quickly made his mark at Standard de Liège. In just a few months, the Ivorian midfielder found his footing and was named player of the month for both February and March. A remarkable achievement for this 27-year-old, who has played 10 matches in the Jupiler Pro League, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist.

Despite these exceptional performances, Lazare Amani remains humble. In a recent interview, he believes his potential is far from reached, emphasizing the importance of adaptation and chemistry with his teammates:

I feel when I'm at my peak, and I'm not there yet. If I tell myself I'm at my best, I think I'll unconsciously limit myself. I've had time to learn and get to know my teammates. In terms of chemistry, things are in place.

His coach gave him clear instructions: play like he did at Union. It's advice he's brilliantly applying on the pitch.

The coach brought me here for certain things. He told me to play like I did at Union. I'm living in the moment. What I do now will determine my future. There are important matches to play.

As for Lazare Amani's future, everything remains open:

There have been discussions. I'm open but we'll see what happens. I know my worth, I still have two years left on my contract with Union. We started on the wrong foot and it affected everything else. If I return to 100% with them, it could change everything. Coming here was the best decision I've made. Other times I was a bit forced. Here, it's my choice.
