Leon Aderemi Balogun is turning an important page in his career. At 36, the Nigerian international has officially announced his departure from Glasgow Rangers. With his contract expiring this summer, the centre-back will not be extending his stay at Ibrox.

In an emotional message posted on his social media, Leon Balogun expressed his gratitude to the club and its supporters. He shared his regret at not having the chance to bid them farewell on the pitch:

If I had known that the last two games of the season would be my final appearances for the club, I would have made sure to say goodbye to all of you accordingly. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that opportunity, which saddens me, because I would have loved to walk around Ibrox one last time and give back all the love and support you’ve given me throughout both my spells here.

First arriving in 2020 and returning in 2023 after a brief stint at QPR, Leon Aderemi Balogun made a lasting impact in the Rangers dressing room. Across his two spells, he played 114 matches, scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists. Renowned for his strength in duels and respected for his professionalism, the Super Eagle leaves behind fond memories in Glasgow.
