Ligue 1: Paris FC aims for a major coup with Idrissa Gana Gueye!

Promoted to French Ligue 1 after a 46-year wait, Paris FC has no intention of just making up the numbers. Backed by the Arnault family and the Red Bull group, the Parisian outfit is determined to make a splash in the transfer market.

With this in mind, the capital club is targeting Idrissa Gana Gueye, the 35-year-old Senegalese maestro who is currently out of contract with Everton.

A former PSG player between 2019 and 2022, Gueye made 99 appearances and lifted several trophies in Parisian colors. His return to the capital would be highly symbolic and provide invaluable experience to a squad under construction.

The midfielder will officially become a free agent on July 1, 2025, making him a financially accessible target.

Fierce competition to secure his signature

However, the competition is fierce. Everton has not given up hope of extending his contract until 2026, and several Gulf clubs, including Al Duhail in Qatar, are offering him highly lucrative deals.

Gueye faces a crucial decision: stay in Europe to take on one final sporting challenge, or succumb to the lure of the Middle East.

Paris FC hopes to convince him by offering a central role in its ambitious project and the opportunity to become a key figure again in a league he knows inside out.
