Linafoot play-offs: AS Simba stuns DCMP in the dying moments!


AS Simba of Kolwezi finally kickstarted their play-off campaign with a dramatic comeback win over DCMP on Monday, May 5th, at Stade Frédéric-Kibasa. The Kamikazes triumphed 2-1, earning their first points after three rounds.
The first half featured a tightly contested duel. DCMP nearly broke the deadlock with a well-taken free kick, but goalkeeper Mbo Mpoyi made a stunning save. Simba responded with two long-range efforts, but Jackson Lunanga was up to the task.
Ultimately, it was Diakana Marzouk who capitalized on a pinpoint cross from Chadrack Lubanzadio to head home the opener (0-1, 14’).
The Kamikazes ignite their campaign
After the break, the Kamikazes took control of the game while DCMP tried to protect their lead. Despite several opportunities, Daoula Lupembe's men struggled to break down a resolute defense.
In the 73rd minute, Olivier Kabongo leveled the score with a thunderous left-footed strike. As DCMP pushed to regain the advantage, Kevin Da Silva popped up in the box in the 92nd minute to snatch victory for Simba.
Thanks to this last-gasp victory, the Kolwezi side breathes new life into their campaign.
