FC Les Aigles du Congo have cemented their supremacy in these Linafoot play-offs by defeating FC Saint Éloi Lupopo (2-1) on Sunday, May 18, at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa.

Just three days after overcoming the Unionistes, Luc Eymael's men secured another prestigious victory.

Just 14 minutes in, Wanet Kashala opened the scoring with a pinpoint shot, capitalizing on a lapse in the Cheminots' defense. Lupopo, despite being well-organized, struggled to convert their chances, even though they dominated possession.

Right before halftime, Horso Mwaku brought his team level by slotting home after Basadila failed to clear the ball effectively.

After the break, the Samouraïs showed greater efficiency. Once again decisive, Wanet Kashala netted the winning goal in the 67th minute, outwitting a defender and coming out on top in a tense one-on-one with Omossola.

With this crucial win, FC Les Aigles du Congo now sit alone at the top of the table with 18 points. Meanwhile, the Cheminots remain in 4th place with 12 points.
