Lorient wants to keep Eli Junior Kroupi
Eli Junior Kroupi was one of the key architects behind FC Lorient’s promotion to Ligue 1. With 21 goals and 3 assists in 30 matches across all competitions, the French-Ivorian striker lit up the pitch for Les Merlus this season.
Transferred to Bournemouth during the winter transfer window, Eli Junior Kroupi nevertheless remained in Brittany on loan until the end of the campaign. And his future might still be written at Le Moustoir. In a statement to L’Équipe, club president Loïc Féry made no secret of his desire to continue the adventure with the player:
There’s strong interest in talking with Junior about the possibility of another season, if he wants it and if the club that bought him is also open to a loan.
Just promoted, FC Lorient wants to bet on continuity and youth. Keeping Kroupi would send a powerful message. Now, they just need to convince Bournemouth… and the main man himself.
