L'Équipe: three weeks of absence for Houssem Aouar!
Reliable reports from France have revealed the nature of the injury of Algerian midfielder, Houssem Aouar, player of Al-Ittihad club in Jeddah, which has prevented him from participating in two important matches for the Algerian team against Botswana and Mozambique, as part of the 5th and 6th rounds of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
According to the daily L'Équipe, medical examinations undergone by Aouar have revealed an injury to the back of his right thigh, which occurred during the match between Ittihad and Riyadh, in the 25th round of the Saudi Pro League (Roshen Saudi Pro League).
Three weeks of rest for Houssem Aouar
The report indicated that Aouar, aged 26, will be absent from the Saudi team for the next three weeks.
The medical department of the Saudi league leader, with 61 points, hopes that the former Olympique Lyonnais player will recover quickly and be able to join the team for the next Ittihad match against Al-Shabab in the semi-final of the Saudi Arabian Cup, scheduled for April 1st.
Aouar is one of the key assets of Ittihad this season, having scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists in 22 matches with the team since his arrival.
