Maedine Makhloufi set for first professional contract at Saint-Étienne?

At just 19 years old, Maedine Makhloufi is set to sign his very first professional contract with AS Saint-Étienne, according to information from Peuple-Vert. The French-Algerian left-back will commit for one season, through to June 2026.

A product of the club's academy, Maedine Makhloufi has made a name for himself this season with Saint-Étienne’s reserve side. In 22 appearances, he has provided 4 assists, underlining both his attacking contribution and his consistency down the left flank. Hard-working and technically sound, he has convinced the coaching staff to include him in their medium-term plans.

This signing comes at a pivotal moment for Les Verts, who are increasingly relying on their academy to supply the first team. For Makhloufi, it’s a well-deserved reward—but also the beginning of a brand new challenge.
