Manchester City open talks to sign Rayan Cherki
According to multiple media sources, Manchester City have officially opened discussions to secure the services of French international Rayan Cherki, winger for Olympique Lyonnais, with the aim of strengthening their squad in the playmaker position during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Citizens have placed Cherki at the top of their priority list, especially after the failed transfer of German star Florian Wirtz. The English club is searching for a creative midfielder, someone who can generate chances and drive the play, to fill the void left by their Belgian superstar, Kevin De Bruyne.
Romano confirms: Manchester City begin negotiations for Cherki!
Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his official X account (formerly Twitter) that Manchester City have initiated direct contact with the player and his entourage: "Manchester City have made contact to open negotiations regarding Rayan Cherki, Lyon player. He is now aware of the club's interest."
The 21-year-old prodigy has made it clear he wants to leave Lyon this summer, following a remarkable season in which he played 44 matches, scored 12 goals, and delivered 20 assists, including 8 in the Europa League.
