Manchester United legend offers advice to Rasmus Højlund

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has offered valuable advice to Danish striker Rosmus Højlund, who is currently going through a difficult time at Manchester United.

What's going on with Rasmus Højlund!

Since arriving at Old Trafford from Atalanta Bergamo in the summer of 2023, the Danish striker has scored 10 goals in his first season at Old Trafford and made a fine debut. However, in the 2024-2025 season, he only managed to score three goals in 28 appearances.

In Manchester United's recent loss to Wolves, the player failed to score or contribute anything positive, and after this loss, former Newcastle United star Alan Shearer came out to talk about the Manchester United star, and Ferdinand gave Ferdinand valuable advice for Rasmus to come out of his bad situation.

What's Ferdinand doing for the young striker!

Speaking on his Rio Presents podcast, Ferdinand stated:

"He needs to take charge of the winger and say, ‘This is what I need from you.’ When you’re in these situations, ‘This is what I expect.’ Let’s reset. Position yourself to highlight your strengths. Right now, we’re seeing too much of your weaknesses.

You have to avoid getting tied up in physical battles and just start making runs. That’s the key advice I’d give to any player lacking confidence. Go back to basics, keep it simple, and focus on what got you here in the first place."
