Manqoba Mngqithi talks about how he rejected all the probosals for the sake of his beginnings club!
Golden Arrows coach Mangopa Mengithi has revealed details of his decision to return to the team that gave him his first opportunity in his coaching career, despite receiving offers from outside the country.
Mengithi, who left Sundowns in December after mixed results, spoke in an interview with iDiski Times about his journey after leaving Sundowns and his need to take a break after years of intense work.
“Initially, I wanted to take a long break after more than a decade of non-stop work. The years I spent with Sundowns were full of pressure, and I felt I needed at least two months to regain my energy. I even left Johannesburg and Durban and went to the village to get away from it all, and that helped me recharge"
Mengethi noted that he was considering coaching options outside of South Africa, but decided to return to the Golden Arrows when they asked him for help.
“In the meantime, I was exploring some opportunities outside the country, but when Sister Mato Madlala asked me to come back to Golden Arrows, I didn't hesitate. She knows that I always prioritize this team.”

Minghetti, 53, emphasized that his loyalty to Golden Arrows goes beyond his personal ambitions. “I am deeply grateful to this team,” he said. “They gave me a priceless opportunity when they made me head coach for the first time, and that is something I will never forget. I have a huge debt to Sister Mato and her late brother, Rocky. When she asked me to help, I felt it was my duty to be there, even if it meant postponing other plans.”
“I wouldn't feel comfortable if anything happened to the team while I was able to help. “That's why I decided to come back, and that decision came from the heart.”
