Marc Brys' harsh tackle on Samuel Eto'o

The head coach of Cameroon's Indomitable Lions, Marc Brys, has once again made headlines with his bold comments directed at Samuel Eto'o.

Marc Brys was present at a press conference this Thursday to unveil the list of the Indomitable Lions who will participate in the 5th and 6th rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. After making public this much-anticipated list by fans and experts alike, the Belgian coach faced a few questions, particularly about his opinion on the recent appointment of FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto'o to the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). To everyone's surprise, Marc Brys responded in an unexpected manner.

"I won't answer that. We're here for the Lions' list. No one congratulated me for the qualifications (for the upcoming 2025 AFCON)." he told journalists. These comments might reignite tensions between the two men during the Indomitable Lions' gathering. Samuel Eto'o had already decided to bury the hatchet, but this statement from the Belgian coach seems to reopen old wounds.

Recently appointed to the CAF COMEX, Samuel Eto'o is eagerly awaited to respond to these remarks by Marc Brys. It should be noted that Cameroon will play against Eswatini on March 19, followed by Libya on March 25, just six days later. The Indomitable Lions lead Group D with 8 points.
