Marc Brys publicly mocked by one of his players!
Absent for several months, Jean-Charles Castelletto has made his return to the Indomitable Lions' squad for Cameroon’s friendlies against Uganda (June 6) and Equatorial Guinea (June 9). However, his comeback wasn’t met with the warmest of welcomes... at least not on social media.
Indeed, the FC Nantes defender, surprised by his call-up and summoned while on vacation, posted a photo from an airplane on Snapchat with this tongue-in-cheek caption:
“End of vacation, Marc Brys has decided not to hold a grudge anymore.”
A look at Castelletto's post:
A bold statement that speaks volumes about the tense relationship between the two men. The Belgian manager had questioned Castelletto’s commitment when he took over in 2024, despite the player’s strong performances at club level.
After being called up in October and then in November, Castelletto disappeared from the squad in March, with other profiles preferred.
His return to the squad seems to be causing more friction than celebration. Is this just a one-off call-up or an attempt at reconciliation?
One thing is certain: tensions remain high within the Cameroonian camp, and this jab is unlikely to ease the situation.
