Mascherano: "Against Al Ahly, nothing will come easy"
Interview
For their historic debut in the FIFA Club World Cup, Leo Messi's Inter Miami will face Al Ahly. And Javier Mascherano, their head coach, is bracing himself for a tough encounter against the Egyptian giants, boasting an impressive continental record.
The match will take place at Hard Rock Stadium on June 15, 2025, in an atmosphere that could well surprise the Americans. Mascherano spoke about this on Btolat:
Even though we're playing at home, it won't necessarily be an advantage. Al Ahly are used to big occasions, massive crowds. These are players who've seen it all before.
The Argentine, a former Albiceleste captain, knows what a competition like this means. He understands the pressure, but above all, the weight of experience:
This is a world tournament. It's not the same as continental competitions. Every detail matters. Every mistake can be costly.
He's also expecting a special turnout in the stands:
I'm sure there will be plenty of Egyptian supporters here. Al Ahly is a club that travels with its passion, no matter the continent.
Still, Mascherano wants to believe in the magic of the event. He's counting on Miami's energy and the enthusiasm of his players:
We have our fans, our city, our dream. It's up to us to give everything. The rest, we'll live it together.
