Mbappe Reveals His Ballon d'Or 2025 Pick Ahead of Awards Night
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe's confirmed who'll get his vote for the 2025 Ballon d’Or and it’s not himself.
Despite being among the frontrunners after stellar season, Mbappe publicly backed his French teammate Ousmane Dembele over Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal & Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
"My Vote? It’s Obvious"
Speaking at press conference ahead of France’s Nations League 3rd place match against Germany, Mbappe said:
"2025 has been good year for me. I’m in great form but I still need titles. That’s why it’s not perfect. The Club World cup's big target"
When asked about the Ballon d'or, he added with smile:
"Do I really need to explain? If it’s between Lamine & Dembele, I pick Dembele. My vote's clear"
Massive Season for Mbappe
The 26 year old has enjoyed explosive debut season with Real Madrid, scoring 43 goal and providing 5 assist in 56 match across all competitions. Still he insists collective success matters more than individual glory.
Ballon d'Or Night Set for September
The 2025 Ballon d’or ceremony will be held in Paris on Monday, 22 Sep, starting at 7PM GMT.
Mbappe will be hoping Club World cup triumph can give him the final push in the race for football’s top individual honour.
