Mercato: Simon Adingra set for Sunderland move
Simon Adingra

Sunderland just keeps on rolling this summer. The newly-promoted Premier League side continues its recruitment spree. After Chemsedine Talbi, Simon Adingra is the next name in the pipeline.

Following the confirmed arrivals of Habib Diarra, Enzo Le Fée, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo, and today Chemsedine Talbi, Sunderland is now focusing on Simon Adingra. According to Sky Sports, the Ivorian winger could be set to sign from Brighton.

The club, managed by Régis Le Bris, is determined to secure its Premier League status for years to come. And that means strengthening the squad.

Simon Adingra has made a name for himself at Brighton over the past two seasons thanks to his blistering pace and impressive dribbling. Last season with the Seagulls, he scored two goals and provided two assists. During his loan spell at Union Saint-Gilloise in 2022/2023, he netted 15 goals and registered 14 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

Additionally, during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast, Adingra delivered both assists in the 2-1 final win over Nigeria, earning him the Man of the Match and Young Player of the Tournament honors. The Ivorian is expected to join Sunderland for around €18 million, plus €2.5 million in bonuses. His medical is scheduled for this Wednesday.
