Mercato: squad trimming operation ahead for Al Ahly
The Egyptian football giant Al Ahly is planning a squad reduction following the 2025 Club World Cup.
Knocked out of the competition in the first round, the Cairo club finished bottom of Group A behind Inter Miami, Palmeiras, and Porto.

This poor performance will push the Egyptian champions to part ways with several players whose contributions have been deemed insufficient.
The Moroccan trio of Achraf Dari, Achraf Bencharki, and Yahia Attiyat Allah, who failed to live up to expectations at the American tournament, are particularly under scrutiny.

Additionally, Hussein El Shahat and Majdi Afcha could leave the club before the close of the summer transfer window.
More reinforcements on the way
Al Ahly appears more determined than ever to strengthen the squad further ahead of the 2025-2026 season. In this regard, the club may target new foreign signings as well as some rising stars from the national league.
