Messi's future at Inter Miami more uncertain than ever!
The future of Argentine superstar Lionel Messi at Inter Miami is becoming more and more uncertain. According to American broadcaster ESPN, talks between both parties to extend the player's contract have been at a standstill since November, with no significant progress.
Nothing is clear about Messi's future at Inter Miami!
While the American club’s management was hoping to secure a new deal with the 35-year-old to keep him in the squad beyond this season, the breakdown in negotiations has raised plenty of questions about the Argentine legend’s future.
World champion in 2022 with Argentina, Messi is now free to negotiate with any club of his choosing, with a potential transfer taking effect at the end of the season. This situation has not gone unnoticed, as several top European and international clubs are closely monitoring his case.
It’s worth noting that Messi’s contract with Inter Miami includes an optional clause allowing the club to extend the deal for an additional season. The management is keen to activate this option to keep the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner through to the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Despite the Florida club’s clear desire to continue the adventure with their superstar, the lack of any concrete progress for several months leaves plenty of doubt hanging in the air. Messi's future remains more uncertain than ever.
