Mohamed Salah, Jaap Stam's favorite for the Ballon d'Or

Dutch legend Jaap Stam has heaped praise on Mohamed Salah, believing that the Egyptian forward deserves to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or.

In an interview with On Sport, the iconic former defender declared: "If it were up to me, I would give the Ballon d'Or to Mohamed Salah."

He added: "Even though I wore the Manchester United shirt, I think Salah absolutely deserves this accolade. He’s had an outstanding season with Liverpool."

Stam also highlighted: "What Salah accomplishes on the pitch is extraordinary. It’s extremely rare to see a player as consistent and decisive in the Premier League."

Jaap Stam: "Al Ahly have a real shot at the Club World Cup"

Regarding Al Ahly’s participation in the Club World Cup, Jaap Stam commented: "Al Ahly’s group is tough, but most of the other teams have already finished their seasons, except for Inter Miami. This could give Al Ahly a fitness advantage."

He concluded: "This tournament promises to be thrilling and unpredictable. Al Ahly have every chance to make a deep run. In these kinds of competitions, anything is possible."
