Mohamed Salah Nears New Liverpool Contract Amid Advanced Talks
Liverpool's moving closer to securing Mohamed Salah’s future with advanced negotiations underway to extend his contract according to reports.
The Egyptian star has been the subject of speculation throughout the season as his current deal runs out next summer. He was previously linked with exit alongside Virgil van Dijk & Trent Alexander Arnold but recent developments may change the club’s plans.
Contract Talks Reach a New Level
According to The Sun, Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas's in serious discussions with Liverpool regarding contract extension. A source told the newspaper:
"Liverpool’s management's officially opened talks with Salah’s agent to renew his deal and negotiations are at more advanced stage than ever before"
The source also revealed that the club's put forward new offer that surpasses any previous proposals signaling their intent to keep their top scorer.
Liverpool’s Strategy Shift
Liverpool was initially hesitant to meet Salah’s financial demands but Alexander Arnold’s possible departure has reshaped the club’s wage structure. Reports suggest that the right back, currently earning 180,000 pound sterling per week, could join Real Madrid on 240,000 pound sterling a week deal.
Meanwhile Salah remains Liverpool’s highest paid player at £350,000 per week, followed by Van Dijk on £220,000 per week.
With fewer high salaries on the books Liverpool may now have the flexibility to offer Salah the contract he desires.
