Already guaranteed a place at the 2026 World Cup, Morocco kept up their momentum with a hard-fought win over Congo (1-0). The Atlas Lions relied on Achraf Hakimi once again, with the defender proving decisive as he delivered the assist that sealed victory for his side.

While some thought the Paris Saint-Germain full-back might be rested after a demanding run of fixtures, Walid Regragui was keen to clear things up.

"We have a good relationship with PSG. We’ve reached an agreement for the Olympic Games, we gave him a breather... He’s under contract with PSG and they’re managing him well," he explained.

This statement puts an end to speculation regarding the management of the Moroccan international, who remains a key figure in the national setup.
