The "Atlas Lions" have etched a historic chapter in Moroccan football after their victory over Congo, extending their winning streak and setting a new national team record.

Coach Walid Regragui's men clinched their sixteenth straight win thanks to a goal from Youssef En-Nesyri in the 63rd minute.

According to Opta, the leading football statistics network, this run ranks among the longest ever achieved by national teams:

1. 16 consecutive victories: Morocco (June 2024 – October 2025)

2. 15 consecutive victories: Spain (June 2008 – June 2009)

3. 14 consecutive victories: France (March 2003 – February 2004), Brazil (June 1997 – December 1997), Australia (October 1996 – October 1997)

For his part, Walid Regragui stated after the match: "We approached this game just as we did against Bahrain. Congo played deep in defense and gave us the ball to look for spaces. We had to be patient to reach the level we were aiming for."
