Morocco: Marouane Chamakh has chosen his future career
Marouane Chamakh

The former Atlas Lions of Morocco star, Marouane Chamakh, has decided on his next profession.

A former striker for Morocco and Bordeaux, Marouane Chamakh now has his sights set on returning to the sidelines—and it’s Bordeaux’s bench that interests him most. In an interview with So Foot, Chamakh sent a clear message to the Girondins, expressing his desire to coach the club in the future.

"Yeah (I’d like to coach the Girondins one day, editor’s note). That’s what’s going to happen anyway, in the future. Actually, my goal was always to coach the Girondins, but for now… Why not start with a club here in Morocco, to get some hands-on experience? I’ve discussed it with a local club coach, just for the practice, and then gradually integrate into the federation. I’m working on my B license, soon I’ll validate my A, and once I have it, we’ll see what comes next. These days, I also have a few businesses: a restaurant, some real estate, agriculture, and a call center. My dream is to be a president, to take over a club. It’ll happen in the future. Bordeaux was an objective, but I’ll let them rebuild first," he said.
