Neymar lashes out at critics
The Brazilian superstar Neymar has broken his silence on social media following a new controversy surrounding his private life. In an Instagram story, the Santos FC forward voiced his exhaustion over the relentless criticism he faces, denouncing the impossibility of pleasing everyone.
Amid a surge of comments and theories about his career and personal life, the Brazilian international felt compelled to set the record straight. In a video posted on Tuesday, March 10, the player addressed his detractors directly.
"Listen... Since so many people are coming up with all sorts of theories about what's happening to me, the truth is, nothing is happening."
The player explained that he finds himself systematically criticized, no matter what decisions he makes regarding his health or his career.
"If I play injured, like they said last year, I'm wrong. If I think about myself, I'm wrong. If I hold myself back, I'm wrong. If I play despite the pain or something that could make it worse, I'm wrong."
This sense of injustice reflects the constant pressure endured by one of the most high-profile stars in world football.
"Very difficult to please everyone"
In his message, the former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player also acknowledged how tough it is to strike the right balance between fans' expectations, sporting demands, and his personal life.
"It's complicated, isn't it? It's really hard to find the right balance, isn't it? Wow... It's very difficult, very difficult to please everyone."
The Brazilian star also expressed his surprise at certain rumors spread by people he thought were close to him.
"What surprises me the most... well, actually, it doesn't surprise me anymore, it's those people who seem to be on my side every day and then start making up stories as if they were the absolute truth."
A controversy reignited on social media
This media outburst comes after a fresh storm around the player. Neymar found himself at the center of controversy after ‘liking’ photos deemed suggestive of French model Pauline Tantot.
An old photo taken in Paris featuring both personalities also resurfaced, fueling speculation about their past relationship.
Without directly addressing the incident, the Brazilian player chose instead to denounce the scale of the rumors swirling around his private life. Despite media pressure and repeated criticism, the Santos FC star says he wants to keep embracing his status and his career.
"It's very complicated being me. Oh my God... I have to have the patience and courage to put up with this."
A message that reveals the player's fatigue in the face of constant judgment, but also his determination to keep moving forward despite the controversies.
