Nicolas Jackson took his Premier League tally to 25 goals by scoring in Aston Villa’s 3-2 victory at Tottenham on Saturday, 19 September 2026. The Senegalese striker is now 8th among the top Senegalese scorers in the history of the English championship and is closing in on the top five.

His 67th-minute goal enabled him to pass the 25-goal mark. Having arrived in England from Villarreal in the summer of 2023, Jackson scored 14 goals for Chelsea in his first season, followed by 10 in the 2024-2025 campaign. His goal at Tottenham therefore took his Premier League total to 25.

Jackson two goals behind Ismaïla Sarr

With 25 goals, Nicolas Jackson is now 8th in the ranking of Senegalese Premier League scorers. He is just two goals behind Ismaïla Sarr, who has 27 for Watford and Crystal Palace.

Sadio Mané leads the ranking with 112 goals. The former Liverpool player is ahead of Demba Ba (43 goals), Papiss Cissé (37) and Henri Camara (31). El-Hadji Diouf and Mame Biram Diouf follow with 28 goals each, then Ismaïla Sarr with 27.

Jackson therefore needs just two goals to draw level with Sarr. With three more goals, he would reach El-Hadji Diouf and Mame Biram Diouf’s tally of 28. Five more goals would allow him to overtake them.

25 goals with Chelsea and Aston Villa

Jackson’s 25 Premier League goals have come with Chelsea and Aston Villa. He was introduced to the English championship during the 2023-2024 season, after his transfer from Villarreal, and ended the campaign with 14 goals in 35 appearances for the Blues.

The following season, he added 10 goals in 30 matches. After his spell at Bayern Munich during the 2025-2026 campaign, Jackson returned to the Premier League this summer with Aston Villa.

His goal at Tottenham was his first in the English championship in a Birmingham club shirt. He had already scored in the Champions League for Aston Villa since joining the club.

Jackson in the African top 35

With 25 goals, Nicolas Jackson also features in the ranking of the top African scorers in Premier League history. According to MyFootballFacts, he is 31st.

He is ahead of several players with 25 goals and sits behind Victor Anichebe, Benjani and Yoane Wissa, who each have 26 goals. Mame Biram Diouf has 27, El-Hadji Diouf 28 and Henri Camara 31. Abdoulaye Doucouré has 33, Peter Ndlovu 34 and Wilfried Bony 35. Salomon Kalou and Peter Odemwingie follow with 36 goals, while Papiss Cissé has 37.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and Didier Drogba are among the most prolific African players in the history of the English championship.

Jackson’s next targets

With 25 goals, Nicolas Jackson is closing in on several former Senegal internationals. Two more goals would allow him to draw level with Ismaïla Sarr. Three more would put him alongside El-Hadji Diouf and Mame Biram Diouf.

His goal against Tottenham has already moved him into 8th place in the Senegalese ranking. What comes next will depend on his future performances with Aston Villa.
