OFFICIAL: Cape Town City axe five players
Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Cape Town City have confirmed the departure of five players ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Keegan Dolly headlines the exits, ending a one-year stay at the club having joined at the beginning of last season.
Njabulo Ngcobo, another ex-Amakhosi servant, has also been released by the Citizens as he was deemed surplus to requirements.
Meanwhile, the axe has also fallen on defender Sfiso Ngobeni, who arrived in the Mother City in August 2025 after his exit from Tshwane giants Mamelodi Sundowns.
Prolific striker Dzenan Zajmovic also won't be retained despite only joining in January 2026 following his ill-fated spell with Zob Ahan in the Iran Persian Gulf Pro League.
Siphamandla Dondolo, who primarily operates as a right-back, rounds up the players that have parted ways with City thus far.
The mass exodus comes on the heels of failure to secure promotion to the lucrative Betway Premiership as the club fell short in the PSL promotion/relegation playoffs.
City had booked their playoff spot by virtue of finishing as runners-up to eventual Motsepe Foundation Championship winners Kruger United last season.
Now, having recently appointed Dutch trainer Andries Ulderink as the club's new head coach, it remains to be seen whether Cape Town City will gain promotion.
