Official: Karl Toko Ekambi leaves Al-Ettifaq at the end of his contract!
The Saudi club Al-Ettifaq has officially announced the departure of their Cameroonian striker Karl Toko Ekambi, whose contract will expire on June 30.
In a brief post on platform X, the club delivered a farewell message to their player: "Our knight Ekambi, thank you for everything," thus confirming the split between the two parties without a contract extension or renewal.
Toko Ekambi bids farewell to Al-Ettifaq… destination still unknown
At 32 years old, Toko Ekambi joined Al-Ettifaq during the 2024 winter transfer window from Abha, where he began his Saudi Pro League journey in the summer of 2023. Despite high expectations, the former Cameroon international was unable to establish himself as a decisive player within the squad.
In total, he played 41 matches for Al-Ettifaq, scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists, according to the statistics from Transfermarkt. These numbers fall short of his previous performances in European leagues.
