Official: Zaydou Youssouf chooses Comoros
Between France and Comoros, Zaydou Youssouf appears to have made his decision. The 25-year-old midfielder has opted to don the jersey of the Coelacanths.
Just days before the 5th and 6th rounds of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, fans of the Coelacanths are celebrating some great news. A dual-national has pledged his allegiance to Comoros. While the Comorian Football Federation has yet to make an official announcement, a photo of coach Stefano Cusin and the player in a Coelacanths jersey speaks volumes. Zaydou Youssouf, born in Bordeaux, has given his yes to Comoros. The news broke this Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

In preparation for the final rounds of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, Stefano Cusin recently toured Europe to meet with several players. He reportedly succeeded in convincing the French U20 international to represent his country of origin. The midfielder from Portuguese club FC Famalicão will be called up to the Comoros national team in the coming days to face Gambia and Madagascar. The Coelacanths currently sit second in Group A with 6 points and remain very much in the hunt for qualification.
