OGC Nice: Injured Youssouf Ndayishimiye ruled out for the rest of the season
Bad news for OGC Nice with just three games left in the Ligue 1 season. After losing Mohamed Abdelmonem, the Gym has now lost another key player for the same reason: their vice-captain Youssouf Ndayishimiye. The club made the announcement public this Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
"During today’s training session, Youssouf Ndayishimiye suffered a knee injury. Medical tests conducted immediately after revealed that he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament," OGC Nice wrote in a statement released a few hours ago.
This injury comes on the heels of Mohamed Abdelmonem’s, who also suffered a torn ACL in the same match against PSG. These simultaneous absences seriously weaken the Aiglons’ defensive line as they sit 6th in Ligue 1 and are still fighting for a Champions League spot.
Youssouf Ndayishimiye has been a rock at the heart of Nice’s defense. Starting 22 times in 23 Ligue 1 appearances this season and finding the net three times, the 26-year-old Burundian has played a pivotal role in the club’s campaign. His sudden injury is a heavy blow for the Gym.
