Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang faced the press this Tuesday. The Gabonese striker addressed the Benjamin Pavard controversy.

Everyone saw it! Benjamin Pavard endured a tough week, stringing together mistakes against Sporting CP in the Champions League and then against Lens in Ligue 1. Those errors resulted in back-to-back defeats for Olympique de Marseille. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, on the eve of the match against Angers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang commented on his teammate’s reaction, while also offering his support.

“That’s just how he is. He’s a very genuine guy, so it doesn’t surprise me. We’re all behind him. Personally, I like to tease people a bit but it’s all in good fun and to make them smile. That’s part of football. Sometimes you go through rough patches. But I trust him—he gives everything on the pitch. No one’s going to abandon him, certainly not me,” said the Gabonese forward Aubameyang.
