Only one African in the 2025 Champions League team of the season!

The Technical Committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has unveiled the Champions League Team of the Season for 2024-2025, marked by Paris Saint-Germain's historic triumph as they clinched this prestigious trophy for the very first time in their history.

The Parisian giants emphatically outclassed Inter Milan with a resounding 5-0 victory in last Saturday's final at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

Among the key architects of this triumph was Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, who opened the scoring in this decisive encounter. Rock-solid at the back and electrifying on his forward runs, Hakimi delivered a complete performance that proved vital in PSG's success.

The team of the season features seven PSG players, two from FC Barcelona, one from Inter Milan, and one from Arsenal.

Africa finds itself underrepresented in this elite selection, with Hakimi standing as the only African player included in the season's best eleven. His consistency, two-way influence, and clutch performances in decisive moments earned him the nod from UEFA's observers.
