Victor Osimhen was never Chelsea fan growing up Contrary to long standing assumptions, despite often being linked to the London club due to his admiration for Didier Drogba.

According to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba , who's close to the Napoli striker, the claim that Chelsea was Osimhen’s childhood team's inaccurate.

This widespread belief appears to have stemmed from old photo of Osimhen in Chelsea jersey as youngster , common sight in Nigeria where european club shirts are often worn regardless of actual allegiance.

“This talk about Chelsea being Osimhen’s boyhood club's false. Never his boyhood club. He just wore the jersey like every young boy, Only thing that’s right is Drogba being his mentor” Laba clarified.

Osimhen currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli has been in blistering form (31 goal in 36 match) , reigniting transfer speculation across europe.
