Panic in Friuli: Maignan suffers horror injury as Milan crush Udinese 4-0
AC Milan earned commanding 4 - 0 win away at Udinese on Friday in Serie A’s Matchday 32 opener but the victory was overshadowed by terrifying injury to their captain and goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
Frightening clash stuns players and fans
In the 55 minute Maignan rushed out to clear dangerous attack but collided violently with teammate Alex Jiménez. The French international fell unconscious on the pitch prompting immediate concern from both sets of players and the match official, who quickly called for medical assistance.
Maignan was stretchered off as fans inside the Stadio Friuli held their breath. According to L’Équipe he regained consciousness before being taken to hospital, where early tests were reassuring. AC Milan later confirmed strong blow to the head but ruled out any serious danger.
Big win despite the shock

Milan back on track?
The win marked coach Sérgio Conceição’s 1st victory in nearly month. Milan now sit 9th in the table with 51 point, six behind fourth placed Bologna.
