After Manchester City secured their place in next season's Champions League with a 2-0 win over Fulham in a one-sided game to close out their Premier League campaign, Pep Guardiola admits that his English winger Jack Grealish could leave the club in the summer.

Exactly what happened to Jack Grealish!

The record signing and one of Manchester City's most expensive signings did not travel to Craven Cottage for the game, raising further questions about his future with the club and whether he will be available next season after winning every trophy possible.

While Kai Gundogan's scissor kick brought joy to the hearts of City fans, it was followed by a penalty goal from Norway's Erling Haaland as City finished the season in third place.

What Pep Guardiola said about Jack Grealish

After the game, Pep Guardiola was asked, as expected, about Jack Grealish and his future with the team as a whole, and with clarity and objectivity Pep Guardiola answered these questions by saying:

Pep Guardiola has addressed Jack Grealish's situation at Manchester City, acknowledging the English winger's need for more consistent playing time.

"It's about selection," Guardiola admitted. "He's a phenomenal talent who should be playing regularly—every three days. But that hasn't been the case this season or last."

The City boss emphasized that Grealish must decide his next steps, stating: "He needs that rhythm—whether here or elsewhere. That’s a conversation for Jack, his agent, and the club."

Despite limited minutes, Guardiola praised Grealish's professionalism: "If he stays, he’ll keep fighting like he always has. Today just wasn’t his day."

A Turbulent Campaign for City’s Record Signing
The £100 million ($135m) signing from Aston Villa in 2021 was instrumental in City’s historic treble-winning 2022/23 campaign. However, this season saw him start just seven Premier League matches, and he remained on the bench during City’s FA Cup final loss to Crystal Palace.
