Manqoba Mngqithi's Young Africans secured a commanding 4-0 victory over JKT Tanzania in the NBC Tanzania Premier League on Monday evening.

The defending champions broke the deadlock through Albert Kangwanda in the 29th minute, before Ibrahim Hamad doubled the lead five minutes later.

Yanga continued to assert their dominance in the match as Chadrack Boka made it 3-0 in the 39th minute for a comfortable lead at half-time.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns goal poacher Peter Shalulile completed the rout two minutes after the hour mark, making it two league goals in three matches.

TimuYaWanananchi, as a result, reclaimed their spot at the summit of the table, having picked up nine points from their opening three matches.

Notably, Mngqithi's troops are level on points with bitter rivals, Stever Barker's Simba SC, who are in second place and have an inferior goal difference.

Appointed last month, Mngqithi has been tasked with retaining the league title, win domestic cup titles, and compete in the CAF Champions League.

Yanga, meanwhile, return to action with a league clash against 12th-placed Pamba Jiji on Friday, 28 August, as they gun for a fifth championship in a row.
