Philippe Ainadou: "I’m focusing on Europe"

At 28, Philippe Ainadou continues his European journey. After spending a season with NK Solin, the Beninese left-back joined NK Zrinski, a Croatian second division club, in January. Despite challenging sporting circumstances, the defender remains determined and focused on his personal goals.

A smooth integration despite obstacles

Arriving mid-season, Philippe Ainadou quickly adapted to his new surroundings:

My integration went well, both within the club and off the pitch. The environment is healthy, which helped me quickly find my bearings.

This stability is invaluable for this quiet yet hardworking player, whose mindset is praised by those around him.

A setback, then a return to the pitch

Starting in the first three games of the second half of the season, Philippe Ainadou was then forced off the pitch due to an infection. It was a tough blow, but he overcame it: "After my illness, I gradually regained playing time." Today, he has made eight appearances in his new colors, in a demanding league.

But collective results are not following: NK Zrinski sits at the bottom of the table with just one win in 28 matches. It’s a tough situation, but Philippe faces it with clear eyes:

We’re struggling, but we’re working hard to turn things around.

Looking ahead without losing focus

Despite this difficult context, the defender keeps his head up. He knows what he wants:

My goals are simple: maintain consistency and get more playing time. Those are the keys to progress.

An unwavering determination, hinting at brighter days ahead. And what about the future? Philippe Ainadou remains focused on the present, but keeps a broad vision:

In football, anything can happen. For now, I’m staying focused on my journey in Europe. But of course, returning to Africa is something that will happen sooner or later.
