Premier League: Mo Salah named player of the year!
Mohamed Salah has once again etched his name into the history books of English football. The Liverpool star forward was crowned the 2025 Player of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) during a ceremony held Thursday night in central London.
This trophy, presented by club legend Ian Rush, caps off a phenomenal season for the Reds’ iconic number 11.
It’s the third time Salah has claimed this accolade, equaling the record for individual awards presented by the FWA.
An outstanding season for Salah and Liverpool
Salah won in a landslide, capturing 90% of the votes from the 918 journalists in the association—a level of popularity not seen since the turn of the century.
This recognition reflects the massive impact the Egyptian has had in driving Liverpool to the Premier League title.
With 33 goals and 23 assists in 51 matches across all competitions, Salah has led his team to new heights. Trailing him in the rankings are his teammate Virgil van Dijk, followed by Alexander Isak (Newcastle) and Declan Rice (Arsenal).
At 32 years old, the Pharaohs’ captain once again confirms his legendary status in the “Kingdom of Her Majesty.”
