Pyramids Coach Expects Tough Battle Against AS FAR in CAF CL Quarterfinals

Pyramids FC head coach Krunoslav Jurčić’s described their upcoming clash against Morocco’s AS FAR in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals as tough and intense challenge.

Speaking at the pre match press conference, Jurčić acknowledged AS FAR’s experience on the continental stage emphasizing the strength of their squad.

“Pyramids’s players with the motivation and determination to go all the way after reaching this crucial stage of the tournament” he said.

The Croatian coach revealed that he’s studied AS FAR’s matches closely, identifying their strengths and weaknesses which his team will aim to exploit.

“We’ve outstanding players who are capable and eager to succeed in every competition” Jurčić added.

He also highlighted the demanding schedule Pyramids FC faces this season, playing in multiple competitions within short timeframes.

“It’s crucial to manage this situation carefully, keep the players motivated and push forward,” he explained.

Despite the tight fixture list Jurčić expressed satisfaction with his squad’s fitness and availability, stating that injuries have been minimal and the team’s fully prepared for the game.

“AS FAR’s more continental experience than Pyramids, which is playing in only its second CAF Champions League campaign. However I’ve great confidence in my players and their ability to secure strong result that will ease the 2nd leg in Morocco.” he concluded.

El Shenawy: Pyramids Determined to Secure Strong First Leg Result

Pyramids FC goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy stressed the importance of securing positive result in Tuesday’s home clash before traveling to Morocco for the return leg on 8 April in Meknes.

“I’m very optimistic that Pyramids will achieve strong result before the 2nd leg..” El Shenawy said.

He pointed out that the team’s currently in top form leading the Egyptian Premier League and reaching the Egypt Cup final.

“Right now, our full focus is on overcoming AS FAR and reaching the semifinals of Africa’s most prestigious club competition, The players are fully committed to delivering great performance,” he added.

Reflecting on the previous encounter between the 2 sides in the CAF Confederation Cup 2 years ago, El Shenawy noted that Pyramids FC,s gained more confidence and experience, making them stronger contenders this time.

He also dismissed any concerns regarding domestic football controversies, such as the recent Zamalek vs Al Ahly league dispute, stating that the team remains fully focused on their CAF Champions League mission.
