Pyramids FC Bounce Back to Beat Haras El Hedood and Extend League Lead


Pyramids FC took another crucial step towards clinching their first ever Egyptian Premier League title securing 2 - 1 win over Haras El Hedood on Wednesday in the 3rd round of the championship phase.
Late Mayele Strike Secures Vital Points
The match held in Alexandria, saw Ali Gabr open the scoring for Pyramids in the 43 minute with well placed header.
Despite Abdelrahman Gouda equalizing for Haras El Hedood in the 76 minute, Fiston Mayele'd the final say. The Congolese forward struck in the 87 minute to earn much needed victory after back to back draws against Al Ahly & Al Masry.
The goal marked return to form for Pyramids and for Mayele whose sharp finish reaffirmed his role as the team's attacking spearhead.
Pyramids Tighten Grip on the Top
The win sees Pyramids extend their lead at the summit of the league table to 47 point.

This season's format sees the 18 club split into two groups based on their first round rankings:
- Top 9 teams compete in the championship group.
- Bottom 9 teams battle in the relegation group. Each team carries forward the points they earned during the first stage of the league.
