Pyramids snatch a precious draw in South Africa!
Pyramids FC achieved what they had hoped for on their trip to South Africa for the first leg of this season's CAF Champions League final at Loftus Versfeld amidst a raucous crowd.
The draw clearly favours the Egyptian side, who will play the second leg at home in Cairo on Sunday, 1 July.
How Pyramids FC got the draw!
Lucas Ribeiro opened the scoring for Mamelodi Sundowns in the 54th minute of the match and after several attempts by the visitors to equalise, the good news came in the fourth minute of injury time.
The goal was scored by Moroccan striker Walid El Karti, and the fans jumped with their blue section in the stadium that was full to capacity, postponing the decision to Cairo and making it more difficult for the Brazilians who have been waiting for the title since 2016.
