Italian giants Inter Milan were held to 1 - 1 draw by Mexican side CF Monterrey in their opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World cup played early Wednesday morning at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.

Ramos Strikes First

Veteran defender Sergio Ramos gave Monterrey the lead in the 25 minute with powerful header celebrating in Cristiano Ronaldo style honoring his former Real Madrid teammate.

Lautaro Responds

Inter struck back before the break. Lautaro Martinez leveled the score in the 42 minute, finishing well constructed move to rescue point for the Nerazzurri.

Group E Standings After Matchday 1

Argentine powerhouse River Plate tops the group with 3 point following 3 - 1 win over Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan on Tuesday.

Inter & Monterrey sit 2nd and 3rd respectively with 1 point each while Urawa remain bottom without point.
