Real Madrid: a €127 million transfer in the works this summer!

Florentino Pérez appears ready to respond with authority after a lackluster 2024-2025 season for Real Madrid. Barcelona’s resurgence has stung Madrid’s pride, and the Merengues’ president is determined to make a statement in the transfer market to turn the tide.

With the arrivals of Xabi Alonso, Dean Huijsen, and Trent Alexander-Arnold already secured, plus an imminent deal for Alvaro Carreras, Madrid is showing they have no intention of doing things by halves. Yet, the real transfer bombshell might still be on the horizon.

Enzo Fernandez, the top target?

According to the BBC, Real Madrid has set its sights on Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea’s midfield maestro and 2022 World Cup winner.

The London club has no plans to let him go easily: a price tag north of €127 million is reportedly required to prise away their midfield star, who was signed from Benfica for €121 million.

Such a fee would be massive for the Merengues, who haven’t splashed out on a galáctico signing since Jude Bellingham in 2023. However, Chelsea’s reported interest in Rodrygo could be used as leverage to sweeten the deal.

Will Madrid make their move? Nothing is off the table. With Pérez at the helm, any summer can turn into a historic one.
