Real Madrid: Joselu reflects on Kylian Mbappé’s first season

Having left Real Madrid over a year ago, Joselu has recently shared his thoughts on Kylian Mbappé’s debut season with Los Blancos.

Joselu was a Real Madrid player during the 2023-2024 season. The Spanish striker netted 19 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions, with many of those goals proving vital for Los Merengues in terms of points and hard-fought victories. Now plying his trade at Al-Gharafa in Qatar, the centre-forward gave an exclusive interview to Marca, where he spoke about the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, who numerically replaced him in the summer of 2024.

“He’s the Golden Boot, but at Real Madrid, you’re also judged on the titles you win, aren’t you? He’s a natural-born goalscorer with exceptional qualities, but the Ballon d’Or is also tied to the trophies you collect over the year. The fans demand it, the club demands it, football demands it. Now that he’s settled in, I hope more titles will come this year, both for the club and for him.” he said.
